Prevention focuses on information, skills, and behaviors that youth can learn and practice to make healthy choices. Prevention emphasizes addressing the issue of ice or other drug use before experimenting begins. People often view prevention as a “one-shot deal” or a one-time talk. However, research shows that healthy skills and behaviors need to be reinforced over time.
