Educators Main Page

Ask anyone about the major influences in their life, and chances are high that an educator will be on their list, be it a classroom teacher or someone who taught important life lessons in less formal settings. The influence that educators have on the lives of those around them is a powerful force.

The time that educators spend with the people they serve creates opportunities for relationships to grow in these learning environments. These relationships are key to influencing youth to make healthy choices. In fact, research shows that one of the most powerful protective factors for young people is the presence of caring and supportive relationships with consistent positive adults in their lives (Bernard, 1996).

The links on the left offer information and resources to help educators learn even more about how they can be positive influences.
